John Wall put on a show against the 76ers.

If you wanted to find a flaw in John Wall's performance against the 76ers on Friday night, you could point out he had five turnovers. But at the same time, when you have 14 assists, that's still a 2.8:1 assist to turnover ratio, which is still an excellent rate for a NBA point guard. So stop quibbling and enjoy John Wall doing what John Wall does so well.

The Wizards picked up their third win of the preseason in a convincing 127-118 win over the 76ers, which was only close thanks to a fourth quarter run by the Sixers' reserves.

Wizards jump out to hot start

The Washington Wizards stepped on the gas pedal early tonight against the Sixers, going 8 for 8 from the field and assisting on all 8 baskets to start the game. John Wall had 10 assists by the end of the first quarter. The Wizards didn't waste any time tonight establishing who the better team was tonight.

Oubre gets it done with his wingspan

Kelly Oubre had a great all-around game tonight, bouncing back from underwhelming performances against the Knicks and Bauru to put together his best performance of the preseason.

He redeemed himself in Philly with 16 points (3-4 FG, 1-2 3PT, 9-11 FT) 3 defensive rebounds, 1 assist and only two personal fouls. He also played with confidence bringing youthful intensity on the defensive end using his long arms and quick hands to collect 3 steals on the night. The Rook is learning, and with Alan Anderson now being out for extended time, that's good to see.

Otto Porter is perfect

The only thing that could stop Otto Porter tonight was the ankle he rolled late in the first half. He was all over the court doing the little things we've come to expect and making everything look easy on the offensive end. Porter was perfect from the field tonight, scoring 13 points (6-6 FG) and chipping in 3 rebounds and 3 assists in just 15 minutes.

Game Info

Where and when: The Washington Wizards take on the Philadelphia 76ers Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia.

TV: The game is available on CSN Mid-Atlantic and CSN Philadelphia.

Radio: You can join the #radioparty on 99.1 WNEW.

Injury report: Jared Dudley and Alan Anderson are out as they continue to recover from surgery. Martell Webster and Garrett Temple worked out on Thursday but did not take part in contact drills Thursday so they're presumably out for tonight as well. DeJuan Blair did practice, so perhaps we'll see him for the first time since the Wizards' preseason opener last week.

Jahlil Okafor is out for the 76ers.

Storylines we're watching

How will the Wizards fare against a team that's already faced them? There's been a lot of talk about the Wizards' new system and the results have been nice so far. But a lot of systems look great up until other coaches have a chance to break down the game film and come up with a strategy to slow it down.

Granted, the 76ers may not be the best team to test out how the Wizards perform against someone that's already faced them, but if the Wizards offense looks considerably worse tonight, there might be reason for mild concern, in a fourth preseason game kinda way.

Can training camp invites take advantage of playing time? Look, it's still going to be an uphill battle for Josh Harrellson or Toure' Murry to make the final roster, since the Wizards already have 15 guaranteed rosters on the books. That said, it's not like the Wizards haven't eaten salary before, and if either Harrellson or Murry can make a strong impression, they just might get the Wizards to think about paying out if they think either serve as an upgrade.

The good news for both Harrellson and Murry is they've had plenty of in-game opportunities to show off their skills with all the injuries the Wizards have dealt with in the preseason. We'll see if they can continue to build on that in Philadelphia.
