The Wizards will not sign a point guard just yet to replace A.J. Price, Randy Wittman said.

The Washington Wizards did indeed work out D-League point guards Blake Ahearn and Ben Uzoh on Sunday, but as of right now, they do not plan on signing either to replace injured point guard A.J. Price, coach Randy Wittman said. Speaking after practice on Monday, Wittman said the team will not make a "snap judgment" on signing anyone to replace Price, be it Ahearn, Uzoh or anyone else.

Via Craig Stouffer of the Washington Examiner.

"We're looking at different scenarios," Wittman said after practice on Monday. "We brought a couple guys in yesterday, looked at them, and we still, we haven't done anything. We don't know when or if we will do anything, but we're looking, looking at different scenarios, different options, different people. We're not going to make a snap, quick judgment. There's not a guy out there right now that warrants that. So we're going to take our time and look at some different guys and see what best fits us moving forward."

In the meantime, Shaun Livingston and Jordan Crawford will hold down the position. Price is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after fracturing his right hand in the Wizards' loss to the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.

Wittman also said that John Wall's status will not make a difference in the team's decision to sign a point guard or not.

The Wizards have brought in Blake Ahearn for a work out as a potential fill-in for the injured A.J. Price.

It looks like Ben Uzon won't be the only free agent competing for a roster spot in the wake of A.J. Price's injury. According to Michael Lee, the Wizards have also brought in Blake Ahearn for a work out as a potential fill-in while Price and Wall recover.

Ahearn has spent most professional career bouncing back and forth between the NBA and the D-League since going undrafted in 2007. As a pro, he's spent time with the Heat, Spurs, Jazz and most recently, with the Pacers who cut him during the preseason. His career numbers are similar to Uzoh, averaging 4.6 points and 1.2 assists per game in 19 career games.

If the Wizards do sign Blake Ahearn, one thing they won't have to worry about is free throw shooting. Last year, while playing with the Reno Bighorns, Ahearn set an NBA record by making 110 straight free throws over a 42 day stretch.

With A.J. Price sidelined, the Wizards brought in Ben Uzoh for a workout, according to a report.

A.J. Price's absence for 4-6 weeks puts the Washington Wizards in a major bind at the point guard position, since John Wall continues to sit with a stress injury in his knee. As part of the effort to address the point-guard void, the Wizards reportedly will work out D-League point guard Ben Uzoh on Sunday, according to reports from Yahoo! Sports' Marc Spears and the Washington Post's Michael Lee.

Uzoh has played five games for the Springfield Armor, averaging 17.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and six assists. He has 60 games and 808 minutes of NBA experience over three years with the Toronto Raptors, Cleveland Cavaliers and then-New Jersey Nets. He actually started eight games for the Raptors down the stretch last year, averaging 7.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game while shooting just 36 percent from the field.

If the Wizards sign Uzoh or any other point guard, they would likely waive Earl Barron. Barron is the only player on the team with a fully unguaranteed contract, and the Wizards currently have a full roster.

The Wizards have lost AJ Price for 4-6 weeks with a fractured hand.

WASHINGTON -- Looks like that trip to the locker room A.J. Price took in the second half was serious.

Price has been diagnosed with a fracture in his right hand, and he will be out 4-6 weeks, he said after the game. He had been starting in place of John Wall, who is out nursing his own injury. This injury will definitely be a huge blow to the Wizards, who were just now finding some consistency in their rotation.

Randy Wittman was informed of Price's fracture after the game. Always the optimist, Wittman was quick to point out that it could have been a lot worse: "It's not displaced or anything, so that's a good thing. He'll have to go see a hand specialist, probably on Monday. He's going to miss some time."

That time, as we now know, is 4-6 weeks.

There is no word yet on what the Wizards will do to replace Price's minutes and contribution to the team. Jordan Crawford could see a lot more time at the point, or Shaun Livingston's minutes could be increased as well. It's possible that the Wizards sign someone to take his spot, but with a full roster, it's probably unlikely. If they do sign someone, my assumption would be that they'd make a call to Shelvin Mack or Jannero Pargo, since they're the ones most likely to fit quickly into the system. And who knows? Maybe Wall will make a miraculous comeback. All we know now is that every point guard the Wizards had in training camp is no longer on the team or injured.

After the game, Price said they told him he'd be out 4-6 weeks. Taking a page out of Wittman's optimism book, Price added that he's a "quick healer."

We'll update you in the coming days as we get more information.

In the meantime, we wish A.J. Price a speedy recovery.

Injuries suck.
