Let's review the last game of the road trip.

The Wizards lost to the Spurs, 114-95 on Wednesday night. Kawhi Leonard scored 27 points to lead the Spurs to the win. John Wall and Marcin Gortat both had double-doubles in the loss. A bad third quarter was what sealed Washington's fate.

Let's review videos, links, and commenting stats.

Videos

Randy Wittman's postgame presser is embedded above. Player videos from Monumental Network are below:

Recaps

Here's a recap roundup from around the web

The Wizards are already banged up with Nene, Drew Gooden, and Bradley Beal nursing leg injuries. Now you can add Otto Porter to the list since he left the third quarter of Wednesday's game and didn't return. At least there are a few days before Saturday's game against the Hornets.

Kelly Oubre however was a bright spot where he scored a career-high 18 points. Take a look at some of his highlights here.

Spurs down the Wizards 114-95 on the last game of the Western Conference road swing.

Kawhi Leonard led the way for the Spurs scoring 27 points as they beat the helpless Wizards 114-95 tonight.

John Wall and Marcin Gortat were the high scorers for the Wizards scoring 20 points apiece while Kelly Oubre Jr. scored a career-high 18 points tonight.

The Wizards shot an impressive 60 percent from the field in the first quarter and led 31-26. That optimistic start quickly faded as the Spurs deep bench exploited the Wizards banged up bench.

Randy Wittman decided to shake things up starting Kris Humphries and Gary Neal in favor of Jared Dudley and Garrett Temple. It didn't matter as Neal got in foul trouble early and was forced to the bench.

The Spurs led 55-52 at halftime and hope was still in the air. As the Spurs do most teams, they methodically pulled away from the Wizards. The three-pointers that weren't falling in the first half started dropping in the third quarter for the Spurs. They didn't do anything fancy or flashy, they just executed their plays and swung the ball from side to side whereas the Wizards didn't do either. The Wizards went cold only scoring 19 points in the third period.

Manu Ginobili hit a transition three pointer with .5 seconds remaining left in the third quarter. That stretched the lead out to 15, 86-71 as the Spurs would coast through the fourth quarter to a 114-95 victory.

Takeaways from tonight's game:

The Wizards played well... for a half: The Spurs gave up a season-high 31 points to the Wizards in the first quarter who shot 60 percent from the field. The Wizards scored 28 points in the paint first half coming off of John Wall drives, backdoor cuts from Oubre, and Wall and Gortat running the pick and roll to perfection.

The second half? No so much. The Wizards scored just 43 points in the second half as the Spurs pulled away. The pick and roll game was no longer working and John Wall was unable to get out in transition. The law of averages came into play as the Wizards shot 41 percent from the field for the game after knocking down 60 percent of their shots in the first quarter.

Kawhi Leonard is the latest wing player to go off against the Wizards: LeBron James, Paul George, Carmelo Anthony; now you can add Kawhi Leonard to the list of wings to go off against the Wizards this year. Leonard scored 27 points on 9-15 shooting including 4-7 from three-point range. In addition, he locked down Otto Porter on the defensive end who was essentially invisible tonight.

Aside from Kelly Oubre, the Wizards didn't get much from the bench: Oubre scored a career high 18 points highlighted by this dunk midway through the fourth quarter.

Oubre showed flashes of why the Wizards drafted him. The rookie hit a three in transition, showed his ability as a finisher when slashing to the hole, and went 4-4 from the free throw line. Is he going to snag a starting spot anytime soon? Probably not. But his minutes are only going to increase with nights like tonight.

Our initial thoughts on Gilbert Arenas' Instagram posts

The Wizards were also in the news today because of Gilbert Arenas.

He wrote not one, not two, but three offensive Instagram posts in each of the last couple of days in regard to women's sports including but not limited to the WNBA, player uniforms, and Dallas Wings guard Skylar Diggins.

The W issued a response and many players have followed suit.

Even though Arenas hasn't played for the Wizards in nearly five years, the news hits us hard. This team is where he enjoyed his greatest success and biggest downfall. Unfortunately, the latter and immature statements like what we've seen today are what he will be known for more.

I'm saddened and disappointed by those Instagram posts. They don't represent what we here at Bullets Forever and the Wizards fanbase as a whole stand for.

We will talk about this more later in the week, but I wanted to let you know our initial thoughts and statements on them. Let's finish this road trip with a win.

The Wizards head to San Antonio looking for their first win of the new millennium.

November 4, Bradley Beal hit a three-pointer in the final second to lift the Wizards to a 102-99 win over the Spurs. The Wizards improved to 3-1 with the win, while the Spurs dropped to 3-2.

One way or another, a team appeared to be making a statement in that game. Either the Wizards were living up to their lofty preseason expectations or the Spurs not living up to theirs. But now that both teams have another full month of basketball under their belts, it's clear the game meant close to nothing.

Washington is 7-12 since Beal's dagger. The only teams with worse point differentials over that span are the Bucks, Nuggets, Lakers and 76ers. The Spurs, on the other hand, are 18-3 and have had the best point differential in the NBA since that loss, even better than the Warriors, as they've crushed their opponents into a fine powder.

A win on Wednesday night may not instant reverse either team's fortunes, but a win in San Antonio just might give the Wizards the boost they need to get back on track. If nothing else, it would be the Wizards' first win in San Antonio since December 11, 1999.

What to watch for

Can the Wizards slow down LaMarcus Aldridge, and will it matter?

Despite the Wizards' struggles this season, they've done a solid job defending 4s this season. In their first meeting against the Spurs, they held Aldridge to 10 points. Earlier this month, they held Kevin Love to 8 points, and they kept Dirk Nowitzki and Anthony Davis under 20 points last week. So don't be surprised if the Wizards find a way to slow down the Spurs' prize summer addition, even if they have undersized guys like Jared Dudley and Otto Porter guarding him most of the night.

Of course, even if they shut Aldridge down, it may not matter because...

Danny Green has been low-key not great this season. He's only shooting 33.3 percent from the field and 29.7 percent from beyond the arc. But if there's a team he can find his touch against, it's the Washington Wizards. Opposing players are shooting 7.1 percent better than average from beyond the arc against the Wizards this season.

Besides, we've already seen Green do well against the Wizards. He's only scored 12 points or more in three games, and one of them was against Washington last month. If it's not Green, just pick another perimeter player on the Spurs who you think will take a bunch of threes and you'll probably be correct.
