The Washington Mystics (10-18) will take on the Atlanta Dream (7-20) at 7 p.m. ET tonight. The game will be available on NBA TV, NBC Sports Washington and NBA TV Canada. It is the third time both teams match up this regular season after splitting a pair of games in June. Myisha Hines-Allen has missed the last few games due to an illness and Elena Delle Donne has not played since Aug. 26.
Yesterday, the team announced that Ariel Atkins will not play due to personal reasons. Tina Charles has been back on the court but has been playing fewer minutes than usual. In the team’s Tuesday night loss to the Storm, Charles played 25 minutes and scored just 4 points. The Mystics are going to struggle to win any of the games they have left if Charles isn’t healthy enough or able to dominate. The Dream also has several players who are out with injuries and due to personal reasons.
Washington only has four regular season games left and are still sitting in 9th place in league standings. Let’s see if they can work some magic and get a playoff bid before next week.
