A three-game road trip came to a close as the Washington Mystics lost 85-74 to the Dallas Wings on Saturday afternoon.
The first half was nothing to write home about. Dallas out-rebounded Washington 25-14 which helped them get a 46-30 lead at halftime. Arike Ogunbowale scored 16 of her 30 points in that period, while Tina Charles and Leilani Mitchell were the only Mystics players to put up a decent showing on offense from the starting lineup.
Washington made a comeback in the third quarter to get the lead down to single digits but still headed into the fourth quarter with a 66-55 deficit.
Charles finished the game with 27 points and 10 rebounds while Mitchell scored 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting, shaking off an early season shooting slump.
The Mystics will head back home to play the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. It’s the first of three Commissioner's Cup matches before the Olympic Break begins.
