Konig, who played alongside former NC State teammate Kiara Leslie and graduated in May 2020, signed with BCF Elfic Fribourg in Switzerland after going undrafted in last year’s WNBA Draft. The Canadian point guard led her team to a perfect 18-0 season and championship, averaging 21.4 points per game. Additionally, she averaged 3.6 assists and 2.4 steals per game.
Prior to playing overseas, she played an important role in NC State’s success during her four years with the team. Konig helped the Wolfpack earn three NCAA Tournament berths and back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances. She started 99 out of 120 games she played in for NC State and averaged 10.1 points and 3.1 assists per game. She finished her collegiate career being named 2020 ACC Tournament MVP and was a Second Team All-ACC honoree in 2020.
Konig left Raleigh holding the program record for single-season threes made (93) and also second in program history with 294 made threes in four seasons, according to her former team.
Konig is proof that a lot can happen in a year. She will now have another chance at the WNBA.
