Erica McCall has been acquired by the Washington Mystics from the Lynx the team announced Friday. The Mystics will send their third-round pick of the 2022 draft to Minnesota.

In a press release, Coach Mike Thibault described Erica as a “valuable addition” to the team’s post rotation. “She is someone who is just starting to reach her professional potential,” said Thibault. “We were impressed by her continued improvement last summer with Minnesota and feel like she will take another step forward with us this season.”

McCall averaged 2.6 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per game with the Lynx last season. Before spending the 2020 season with Minessota, McCall spent her first three seasons with Indiana Fever. She was drafted 17th overall by Indiana in 2017.

The forward is currently playing in Hungary, averaging 14.8 points and 9.0 rebounds. McCall is also the sister of WNBA All-Star and two-time WNBA champion DeWanna Bonner as well as the sister-in-law of Candice Dupree so when she matched up against them it will be fun!

“Erica will be a valuable addition to our post rotation. She is someone who is just starting to reach her professional potential,” said Thibault. “We were impressed by her continued improvement last summer with Minnesota and feel like she will take another step forward with us this season.”
