It’s now official. 2X WNBA Champion Alysha Clark signs with the Washington Mystics, according to General Manager and Head Coach Mike Thibault. Clark signed a 2-year, $183K guaranteed contract. That $183K is per year, according to Rachel Galligan of WINSIDR.

Thibault described Clark as a competitive player and that she’s a winner on both ends of the floor.

“Alysha Clark is the ultimate competitor and winner. She is able to impact the game at both ends of the court as well as provide incredible leadership in the locker room,” Thibault said. “There aren’t many players as well-respected around the league as she is. She contributes to every phase of the game - an All-Defensive Team player, a league leader in three-point shooting, a terrific passer and post-up threat. She perfectly fits our style of play. Her new teammates and staff are excited to get on the court with her soon!”

The Mystics definitely lucked out on this free agency grab especially with Clark’s defensive mindset. She was a 2020 candidate for Defensive Player of the Year, while also earning her second All-Defensive Team recognition being unanimously selected to the WNBA All-Defensive First Team.

Clark also brings to the Mystics some high quality shooting as she led the WNBA in three-point field goal percentage for two consecutive seasons. It’s going to be raining three’s in D.C. even more!

It’ll definitely be exciting seeing her on the court as a Washington Mystic. Clark even seems thrilled as she took to Twitter earlier today.
