Watch Myisha Hines-Allen use open space and her strength to score a career-high 27 points

The Washington Mystics forward took advantage of open space and her strength to take advantage of the Fever last night.

The frontcourt situation of the Washington Mystics turned from a strength to a question mark with Elena Delle Donne* and Tina Charles sitting out the season due to health concerns.

Yes, Emma Meesseman will be the team’s focal point in the frontcourt, but the Mystics need more frontcourt help in order to have a successful season. And that’s where Myisha Hines-Allen came in.

Yesterday, she got the start and put on a dominating show, scoring 27 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing two assists against the Indiana Fever in a 101-76 blowout yesterday.

Hines-Allen shot 11-of-17 from the field, including 3-of-4 from the three point line. What stood out was that she used her power to get some of her points in addition to taking advantage of open space.

It’s early to say whether she can keep up performances like these. After all, the Fever were projected to be among the worst teams this season. Hopefully, we’ll also see Hines-Allen continue to play like this against some of the league’s best teams in the coming days.
