The Washington Mystics have been in existence for all but one of the WNBA’s seasons. But they haven’t won consistently until very recently. Because of this, they haven’t been involved in league rivalries like the Minnesota Lynx and Los Angeles Sparks or the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm among others.
Today, the Mystics seem to have a budding, if not all-out rivalry against the Las Vegas Aces. After all, their recent games have been cancelled due to travel delays or postponed due to earthquakes, And their center Liz Cambage thinks her Washington counterparts, Emma Meesseman and LaToya Sanders need to hit the weight room or get out of the way after the Mystics lost to the Aces in Game 3 of the WNBA semifinals.
Express yourself Liz Cambage. @ecambage

The pure truth and the audacity to say it...
“If they can’t handle it,get in the weight room or get out of the post”...
I love this..@wnba playoffs. @LVAces pic.twitter.com/aTlbAuQQmk
Natasha Cloud has been the Mystics’ vocal leader during the last few years. She did pushups after Washington beat Las Vegas in last year’s semifinals. And she yelled “YOU CAN’T DO THAT!” while reminiscing Washington’s playoff run on Saturday night.

As you might expect, Cambage responded on Sunday, stating that Sanders, the player who fell in the play, needed to beef up.
she needs some milk https://t.co/8ANAn6tjyq

The Mystics responded since... they won the championship!
Who needs milk when you got champagne? @ecambage https://t.co/aTShyNovbJ pic.twitter.com/tfqG0px9HF

And then Cambage responded again, stating that the Mystics didn’t celebrate with real champagne, just Prosecco.
champagne? but y’all celebrated with prosecco..... https://t.co/KCyqc6XHsr pic.twitter.com/YxJCxJOgVF

Prosecco is a ... more affordable type of sparkling wine than champagne. So Cambage does have a point, even though it’s probably just because she wanted to find any way to get under the Mystics’ skin.
After the Mystics repeat as WNBA champions (hopefully in 2020!), I think Cloud will make sure the team celebrates with Veuve Clicquots or Moët and Chandons!
