The Washington Mystics defeated the Chicago Sky on Sunday afternoon 100-86. Washington finishes the 2019 WNBA season with a franchise-best 26-8 record and the top seed of the WNBA Playoffs which start on Wednesday. Sept. 11. However, Washington will get some much-needed rest for over a week because they have a double-bye to the semifinals!
As for the game itself? This was the definition of a victory lap. I mean, look at the crowd swag surfing.

Elena Delle Donne scored 25 points. Tianna Hawkins added 24 more off the bench. And here’s something else to think about. Emma Meesseman got the start once again for Washington where she scored 11 points and added 5 assists. Perhaps she will be starting regularly for the postseason.
The Mystics started the game with a 28-17 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Diamond DeShields led the Sky’s scorers with 16 points.
Washington will host Game 1 of the WNBA semifinals against the lowest remaining seed after second round games are completed on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
