The Washington Mystics meet up with the New York Liberty in their final road game of the season. Washington already owns the season series 2-0 with their most recent win being a 101-72 blowout victory. With a couple key players out for now, Washington needs not to treat this game as if it was just a scrimmage game and play all out hard basketball. Here’s the preview for Tuesday’s game!
Game Info
When: Tuesday September 3 at 7 p.m. ET
Where: Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York
How to : NBA TV, Monumental FSGO
Injury Report
Mystics: Kiara Leslie (Knee, Out), Kristi Toliver (Knee, Out), Aerial Powers (Left Glute, Out)
Liberty: Asia Durr (Groin, Questionable), Kiah Stokes (Personal, Out)
What To Look Out For
No Aerial Powers again for the Mystics
Powers being out for two games in a row can be alarming for Washington as she was in for the also injured guard Kristi Toliver. Powers is still nursing a left glute injury, the same injury that kept her out for the first two to four weeks beginning of the season.
Mike Thibault says Aerial Powers (left glute) will NOT play in New York tomorrow, she won't even travel with the team. Mystics being extra cautious here - "If we were playing a playoff game, she could probably play."

They're hoping she plays this weekend. #Mystics
Powers has been averaging 11.5 points per game while shooting 44 percent from the floor. Whether she comes off the bench as a reserve or remains a starter, Powers has been a key piece in the Mystics offense.
Injuries are part of the game, but with the playoffs literally around the corner and Washington being a heavy favorite this is a bad time for them to happen. Granted this needed time for both Toliver and Powers could be extended since Washington will finish out the season as a top-two team in the league. Meaning, the Mystics will go into the playoffs with a double bye straight to the semifinals.
With the Liberty, Wings and Sky being their final opponents of the regular season, the Mystics could have the least bit pressure and the most rest for key players. That said, it wouldn’t hurt to clinch the top overall seed.
