Mystics vs. Aces Game 1 video: Watch Emma Meesseman score a playoff career-high 27 points

The Mystics forward showed us why she is truly an integral piece for the team’s success.

Emma Meesseman lit up the scoreboard in Game 1 of the WNBA semifinals.

Emma Meesseman has grown a lot personally and professionally. Unfortunately, we never got to see much of that with the Washington Mystics because of Belgium’s rise on the world stage. I was never skeptical about Meesseman’s talent over the last couple years. I feared that we would never get to see her shine as she enters her prime.

On Tuesday, Meesseman led Washington with a playoff career-high 27 points in their 97-95 Game 1 win over the Las Vegas Aces. She shot 12-of-18 from the field and also 2-of-4 from the three-point line. As you might expect, her shot chart was spectacular.

The shots don’t tell the whole story. Meesseman has soft touch around the basket, can make catch-and-shoot three-pointers and even make a powerful drive to the basket. The crowd went wild in the third quarter when they saw her do this!
