The Washington Mystics defeated the Minnesota Lynx, 86-79 in Minneapolis. Washington has now swept the Lynx and also beat them twice in five days.

Another note to add is that with the win over Minnesota, Washington becomes the first team to clinch a playoff spot!

In this game, Emma Meesseman led Washington with 17 points and 8 assists, including making 3-of-4 three pointers.

Besides Meesseman, Ariel Atkins and Aerial Powers scored 18 and 14 points, respectively and even made three shots from long range as well. Washington ultimately shot 12-of-26 from three. Elena Delle Donne added 14 points in the victory.

And more Mystics are setting the record books. Natasha Cloud is now the franchise leader in career assists!

The Mystics weren’t running away with this game from start to finish like they did last Sunday. But fortunately, their three-point game helped them win this one.

The Mystics head back home on Sunday, August 18 to play the Indiana Fever. Tipoff is at 3 p.m. ET.
