What to Watch for

Mystics will be without Emma Meesseman and Kim Mestdagh

Meesseman and Mestdagh have left the United States to re-join their Belgium National Team ahead of Women’s EuroBasket 2019. Mestdagh hasn’t seen nearly as much playing time as Meesseman.

Losing Meesseman is not ideal but based off of the way the Mystics have been playing, they should manage just fine without her. It is evident, however, that Washington is a greater team with her.

Seeing Meesseman on the floor, especially alongside Delle Donne, is a scary sight for opponents and we’ll just have to be patient as we wait to witness the duo in action again.

Can the Mystics keep up their momentum?

The Mystics were running circles around Chicago Wednesday night offensively and defensively.

In all three of their regular season games, each player that has been on the active list has seen minutes and has scored. Last game, Aerial Powers returned to the lineup which meant that the Mystics had 11 of their 12 players ready to play. Rookie Kiara Leslie is the 12th player who will likely not return this season as she is expected to miss 3-4 months with a right knee injury.

Tina Charles is still a problem!

If there’s one person to watch this game, it’s Tina Charles. The center is leading her team by far in points and rebounds. She’s averaging an impressive 22.7 points and 11 rebounds per game. The Mystics need to make sure they contain Charles because she will find a way to score.
