The Mystics play the Dream on Friday. Here’s a quick preview.

Gametime

When: Friday, May 17 at 7 p.m. ET

Where: Albany Civic Center, Albany, GA

TV/Radio: None

What to watch for

  • Will we get a glimpse of the Mystics’ true rotations? Last Friday’s game against the Lynx didn’t really show the Mystics at full strength with Elena Delle Donne and LaToya Sanders sitting out. This time, we want to see who’s really in the starting lineup and how rotations will go from there.
  • How well will the Elena Delle Donne and Emma Meesseman frontcourt duo perform? Before the 2017 season, some pundits were quick to say that the two would mesh well and create nightmares for defenses. Unfortunately, the duo never got to play much together. And they weren’t on the same page in the few minutes they actually DID get together. This would be a good game to see how well they can mesh together against another very strong team.
  • Will the backcourt bounce back and start strong? The Mystics lost last week because Kristi Toliver and Natasha Cloud shot a combined 2-of-11 from the field. Washington’s getting every team’s best shot in 2019 so I hope they come out strong.
