Mystics vs. Sun Game 4 final score: Washington loses 90-86

If only Emma Meesseman STARTED instead of came off the bench!

2019 WNBA Finals - Game Four

The Washington Mystics lost to the Connecticut Sun, 90-86 on Tuesday in Uncasville, Conn. in Game 4 of the 2019 WNBA Finals..

To be fair to the Mystics, they were leading at times in the fourth quarter. But they allowed the Sun to nearly double them up 32-17 in the first quarter. Why? Because Emma Meesseman came off the bench INSTEAD OF STARTING THE GAME WHERE SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FIRST PLACE!

The Mystics lost this game due to their own stubbornness. Really? Emma isn’t worthy to start and close the series out? She would have scored more than the 12 she did tonight. I think the Mystics would have been holding the trophy otherwise if she started and ... if Elena Delle Donne came off the bench instead!

Let’s give the Sun credit holding the fort as they brought the series back to Washington for an Epic Game 5. Jonquel Jones scored 18 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Alyssa Thomas added another 17 points and dished 11 assists.

For the Mystics, Aerial Powers led their scorers with 15 points while Ariel Atkins added another 14.

The Sun won this game simply by getting the early lead. They nearly doubled up Washington, 32-17 in the first quarter. All because Mike Thibault thought it was a good idea that Emma shouldn’t be starting when she should have started IN THE FIRST PLACE!

I’m still sooooo mad over this game. I don’t have anything rational to say. But the only piece of not-so-bad news is this. The Mystics STILL have one more shot to win it all in Game 5.

Game 5 will be on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Congress Heights. You can watch the game on ESPN2. I hope the Mystics make the appropriate adjustments. Otherwise, I think they will have to make some drastic changes to their team, not unlike the Wizards did last summer.
