aerial powers wnba playoffs mystics Stewart W. Small

The Mystics host the Dream on Sunday in Game 4 of the WNBA semifinals. If the Mystics win, we go to Game 5. If they lose, their 2018 season will come to an end.

Game Info

When: Sunday, September 2 at 3 p.m. EST

Where: Charles Smith Center at George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

How to watch: ESPN2

Injuries: Elena Delle Donne (knee) is questionable for Washington, while Angel McCoughtry (knee) is out for the Dream.

Series status: Atlanta leads, two games to one.

What to look for

Pull out every stop - Shatori Walker-Kimbrough and Monique Currie have struggled to find postseason minutes. If Kristi Toliver continues to get into a shooting slump, Washington has to play desperate now.

Hope EDD can play - The Mystics were a shell of themselves on Friday. Yes, they managed to keep things close against the Dream, but they had no true answer for Tiffany Hayes. I sound pessimistic here, but Washington has practically no hope of advancing without Delle Donne. Here’s hoping that she is ready to go.

Consider starting Aerial Powers if EDD can’t play at all or at full strength - Powers played with energy on both ends of the floor in Game 3 and she’s proven to be a very strong addition to the team since Washington traded for her. Powers can play some power forward in small ball situations. At this point, I wouldn’t mind seeing what Powers can do playing 35-36 minutes on Sunday.
