Ariel Atkins named to WNBA All-Defensive Second Team

It’s rare to see rookies make the All-Defensive Team. But that’s what Atkins just did.

On Thursday, the WNBA announced that Ariel Atkins was named to the All-WNBA Defensive Second Team.

Atkins was named to the second team along with Rebekkah Brunson, Sylvia Fowles, Tiffany Hayes, and Nneka Ogwumike. Atkins is also the only rookie or player on a rookie contract to be named to either the First or Second Defensive Team.
