Pregame Notes
Mystics have to do better offensively
In Game 2, Washington needs to focus on creating better looks on the offensive end. Their field goal percentage was 38.9% which was the lowest it’s been against Atlanta all season. What kept them in the game was their 3-point percentage of 42.3 and their perfect free-throw shooting. The Mystics made 11-26 from behind the arc and went 20-20 from the free-throw line.
The Mystics need to start and end strong
Now is not the time to give up leads, especially on the road. With just under two minutes to go in the last game Washington was up by 9 points. That quickly changed because with 40 seconds left the Dream came back to make it a one possession game. They were outscored in the last two quarters and it didn’t help that there shooting percentage this game was low. In this upcoming game, the Mystics need go hard each quarter regardless of the score. If they let go of another lead, it could easily cost them a game.
Elena Delle Donne, keep that same energy!
All season, we’ve watched Elena Delle Donne dominate and last game was no exception. With 32 points and 13 rebounds, she showed that she can take over a playoff game with no problem. With Kristi Toliver and LaToya Sanders not hitting most of their shots, she made up where they lacked. She’s the most reliable player on the Mystics squad and she will continue to be throughout the playoffs.
