Pregame Notes

Watch out for Kelsey Mitchell and Victoria Vivians behind the arc

Don’t leave Mitchell and Vivians open from deep because both are already on the all-time charts for rookie 3-pointers. Vivians is sixth on the list with 61 treys made so far, this season. Mitchell, who has made 66 this season, is in third place. She just might break the record of 76 this season, which is shared between WNBA legend Tamika Catchings and Crystal Robinson.

Will Ariel Atkins be OK to play?

Ariel Atkins went off last game with 26 points. However, the guard didn’t get to finish what she started due to an injury. Atkins took a hard fall when she collided with Allisha Gray while attempting a layup. While it’s likely not imperative that she plays against the Fever we do hope she has recovered from that terrible fall.

The Mystics haven’t lost to the Fever all season

Both teams have met three times this season with all games (one preseason and two regular season) being played in May. In their last meeting on May 24, Delle Donne dominated with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Toliver and Tianna Hawkins followed with 13 points each. Even with the Fever’s rookie Kelsey Mitchell leading her team with 25 points and Candice Dupree adding 21, Indiana couldn’t stop Washington. Even though the Fever are certainly capable of upsetting anyone in the WNBA, we don’t foresee them stopping the Mystics tomorrow night.
