The Seattle Storm defeated the Washington Mystics on Sunday night, 97-91. The Storm took advantage of a 31-20 run in the third quarter to give them a double digit lead for parts of the second half.
Along the way, Sue Bird, who already is the WNBA’s all-time leading assister during a Mystics game last year, became Seattle’s all-time leading scorer as well.
Legend!

The Mystics didn’t play bad, at least their starters. Elena Delle Donne scored 29 points while Ariel Atkins added 17 more. In fact, every Mystics starter scored in double figures.
The problem was bench scoring where Washington only scored seven total points while Crystal Langhorne and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored a combined 22 off the bench. The Mystics are deep, but their bench didn’t show it tonight.
Next Game
The Mystics head back to Washington and will host the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday, July 11. Tip-off is at 11:30 a.m. EST.
