What to watch for

Home court advantage is real, Mystics beware

In their last matchup, the Dream shot 60 percent from the field. They made 11 out of 18 three-pointers. Please note that this happened while in DC. There’s no place like home so expect Atlanta to be even more comfortable shooting and they are on a 3 win streak. If their percentage is like it was this past Wednesday, then the Mystics really need to step up their offense. 40 percent from the field will not suffice again.

The Mystics need to lock in on defense

Four of Atlanta’s players made a tremendous impact in their 106-89 win on Wednesday. Angel McCoughtry, Jessica Breland, Tiffany Hayes, and Renee Montgomery were an absolute problem for the Mystics as they all scored over 21 or more points each. If the Mystics want to win, this scenario cannot happen again.

The Mystics can always count on Elena Delle Donne

Even when Delle Donne is having an off game she’s still putting up numbers. On Wednesday, her stat line against the Dream was 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. In this match-up, we expect her to carry the team but she’s going to need even more help this time.

Ariel Atkins has arrived

Atkins had a season high 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists on Friday night against the Chicago Sky. If there’s a time to go off during the season, it’s now. The guard is averaging 11.6 points per game this season but this performance showed us that there’s still a lot we haven’t seen from her yet. After all, she is a rookie so she’s just getting started.
