Pregame notes

Never underestimate home court advantage

Yes, the Mystics blew out the Chicago Sky by 28 points a few days ago but they still have to prove they can be consistent team. There should not be an ounce of cockiness coming from the Mystics because their performance has fluctuated greatly. It’s in the Mystics’ best interest to forget that they just won and focus on playing their best game. There’s nothing like playing on your home court so Chicago isn’t just going to let Washington come in and run their town.

Keep putting pressure defensively

It’s evident that Washington is playing pretty good defense as the Sky only shot 29.7 percent in their last match-up against the Mystics. Also, do not underestimate steals as they can absolutely change the momentum of an entire game. Washington had 13 on Tuesday night. If they can contain Chicago’s top scorers Allie Quigley, Diamond DeShields, Cheyenne Parker, and Courtney Vandersloot they’ll be just fine.

Look out for Tayler Hill!

With Tayler Hill back in the rotation after tearing her ACL last year, we’re looking forward to be re-introduced to her game. Last season she averaged 13.3 points and 2.6 assists and while we’re not totally expecting her to come out doing all of that, we can foresee her having an impact on this team’s success going forward.
