On Monday, the Washington Mystics signed forward Devereaux Peters and re-signed Asia Taylor.
Peters is entering her sixth WNBA season. She played her first four seasons for the Minnesota Lynx from 2012-2015 where she was the third overall pick in the 2012 Draft. The Lynx won the championship in 2011, so this first round pick came from a trade where the Mystics acquired Nicky Anosike in exchange for their 2012 first round pick before the 2011 season.
In 2016, Peters was traded to the Indiana Fever in exchange for Natasha Howard. She was released before the 2017 season after she suffered a labrum injury. Peters also suffered two ACL injuries in the past, but these happened during her college career at Notre Dame.
Taylor averaged 1.9 points in 24 games with Washington last year. She was used sparingly throughout the season, but is performed at a much higher level in Australia this past winter.
