The Mystics defeated the Mercury, 85-80 on Sunday. Kristi Toliver led all scorers with 20 points while Tierra Ruffin-Pratt added 17 points and Emma Meesseman added 15 more.
After last Friday’s loss to the San Antonio Stars, the Mystics had control of this game, even if they weren’t leading the entire time. Give credit to the rebounds, where Washington had a 42-26 advantage. Krystal Thomas grabbed 16 boards, which was effectively the difference in this game.
The Mystics now have a two game lead over the Mercury for the 4th seed in the WNBA Playoffs. They also play each of their next three games at home, since this was their first home game since the All-Star Break ended.
