The Washington Mystics (17-14) were not able to overcome the Dallas Wings (15-17) tonight in D.C. A terrible start and a worse third quarter, saw their seven point lead disappear after a flagrant foul on Emma Meesseman and Krystal Thomas, both getting elbows to the face. Typical Dallas Wings ‘adjustments’.

Who Contributed

Elena Delle Donne had 29 points and 11 rebounds. She did not score in the first quarter, but managed to get it going in the second and fourth quarters to keep it close.

Emma Meesseman was right behind her with 22 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots. So that was the offense.

Kristi Toliver scored three points. THREE POINTS. She missed two super important free throws in the fourth quarter that just left me stunned.

Krystal Thomas had 10 rebounds, but barely made an impact on offense, missing 4? lay-ups early.

Shatori Walker-Kimbrough, Ivory Latta and Allison Hightower combined for 12 points. That won’t get any wins.

Tierra Ruffin-Pratt fouled out in the fourth quarter with six points. Famine, once again.

...

I am well aware that the team is disjointed and getting themselves acquainted still, but seeing the rest of the team shoot the way they did was discouraging, to say the least. We already know that EDD and Meesseman are the franchise players, but my god, can anyone hit a shot? Seriously.

This sums the game up:

This was definitely the silver lining!
