What to watch for
Don’t feel too comfortable at home - The Mystics are 9-2 at home and still have nine more games left this season. The good news is that six home games are left as the Mystics look to secure playoff positioning and hopefully, a first round bye. But Washington can’t afford to be complacent, even against a team that figures to miss the playoffs for the first time in over a decade. After all, they’re missing two of their top three players due to injury.
Can TRP stay hot? Tierra Ruffin-Pratt has been a regular starter for each of the past three seasons, but her shooting percentage has remained in the high 30’s throughout her career. Yes, she’s a good rebounder for her height and can also play point guard in a pinch. But she has yet to be a reliable scoring option ... until now.
In the last two games, Ruffin-Pratt scored 17 points each and made defenses pay for keeping her open. I’d like to see her keep this up tomorrow night because that is the next step in her development — being a reliable scorer when her number’s called.
