Mystics vs. Dream preview: Washington looks to finish pre All-Star break schedule with a win

Stewart W. Small

The Mystics haven’t played at home in a long time. They finally finish the pre All-Star break schedule tomorrow morning.

Where and When: Wednesday, July 19, 2017, 11:30 a.m. ET at Verizon Center

Streaming: Monumental Network (D.C.) or WNBA League Pass

Injuries: For the Mystics, Tayler Hill is out for the season due to a torn right ACL. Elena Delle Donne is doubtful due to an ankle injury.

For the Dream, Aneika Henry-Morello is out indefinitely due to a foot injury while Angel McCoughtry has decided to sit out at least part of the season to rest. At this point, it looks like it’s for the whole summer.

What to watch for

The Mystics were torched by Bria Hartley last Sunday during the Liberty game, when she led their scorers with 15 points. If this move wasn’t scary enough:

They now have an even better guard in Tiffany Hayes to deal with tomorrow. Though Angel McCoughtry isn’t in ATL right now, Hayes has filled in her shoes very well where she’s averaging a career high 16.5 points a game this season and will start in the All-Star Game this weekend.

This is also the Mystics’ last game before the All-Star Break. Though they won’t play another game for six days after this, it’s still important to get Win #12 in light of their 1-4 road trip. Here’s hoping that the Mystics do just that.
