Wow, okay. The Mystics improve to 5-2, beating the Atlanta Dream (4-2) 78-72 at the Verizon Center this afternoon.
The Mystics were without Tayler Hill, Natasha Cloud and Asia Taylor, so the onus was definitely on the bench to show up against the very hot Atlanta team.
Have a game @De11eDonne! Double-Double with a career high 15 rebounds!#MysticsDream #EyesUpDC pic.twitter.com/T7ZEwPbtnf

The Good News
Elena Delle Donne started hot, and stayed there. Her 23 points and 15 rebounds was catastrophic to the Dream. At one point the Mystics were up 18.
Fifteen rebounds ? A career high ? Guess this is what happiness translates into ! WOOT WE LUV YOU TOO @De11eDonne https://t.co/EmRsnWEPcW

Kristi Toliver exploded today, and started the game 3 for 3 from three. Last year’s WNBA champion let it fly!

Jennie Simms came off the bench like she was super mad at Atlanta. In 14 minutes she had four rebounds and two assists. Trust me, they were GORGEOUS...lol.
The Bad News
Good lord. What was once a bounty, becomes a drought. The Mystics managed to give up an EIGHTEEN point lead. That is a theme. Sure, clutch time they are finishing, but my god, there is an obvious flaw in the system. Intensity when up. This has happened in all of the last four wins, but when taking on the top teams, they are going to get demolished.
The Neutral News
Even without Natasha Cloud and Tayler Hill this Mystics team has some really amazing confidence. Regardless of who is on the floor, the ball movement and rebounding can be superlative. Sure, other times not. But, no one can be mad at what the bench is bringing!
The Mystics improve to 5-2, and it isn’t even with a full squad. Just gritty basketball. This team is going to be really good when all the pieces are in place.
...
John Wall was in the house to show the Mystics some love!
