The Washington Wizards lost to the New York Knicks on Saturday night, 121-105.
Just like the Cleveland Cavaliers debacle, there weren’t many team-wide positives to write about. The Wizards never led in this game and were behind by as many as 26 points in the second quarter. While the Wizards did make a big run in the third quarter to shrink the deficit to single digits, it was far from enough.
Individually, Kyle Kuzma led the way with 27 points. Deni Avdija had a double double with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting and 10 rebounds, while also adding 6 assists. Avdija’s third quarter was especially strong, where he scored 12 of his points. Also, Avdija has looked really good recently, and hopefully he can keep this kind of play up as this season goes on.
For the Knicks, Julius Randle led with 39 points and Isaiah Hartenstein grabbed 19 rebounds.
The Wizards will be back in action on Monday to play against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tip off is at 7 p.m. ET. See you then.
