Wizards lose to Brooklyn 124-97, as this one got out of hand in the 2nd half.
It was mentioned quite a bit during the broadcast, but despite Brooklyn’s corner three point shooting being a focal point of the Wizards defensive plans, that was not ultimately what hurt the team tonight, well at least initially.
Brooklyn shot under 30 percent, while only making 3 three pointers for the first half. This is what kept the Wizards close. As the game went on Brooklyn started getting hot, including hitting 5-8 from behind the arc in the 3rd quarter to push their lead to 19 points and the Wizards just did not have it going offensive to keep up.
The Nets’ defense kept the Wizards off schedule on offense. The team found it hard to really get into much of a rhythm to keep up with Brooklyn. Wizards shot a pedestrian 6-33 behind the arc. Kyle Kuzma was the team’s high point man with 17 points, while Jordan Poole did not reach double figures (only 8 points).
Wizards drop their 4th straight and will play the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, in the city of Brotherly Love.

Glaring Lack of Inside Play
Wizards gave up a 76 points in the paint and were outrebounded 55-41. When Brooklyn could not hit shots outside, they used spacing to allow themselves to do their damage inside the paint.
