Wizards vs. Raptors preview: Washington hosts Toronto in second end of back-to-back

The Wizards are in the second game of their homestand.

NBA: Washington Wizards at Toronto Raptors Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

A forever-never tanking Washington Wizards team is hosting the Toronto Raptors on the second night of a back-to-back. Washington just lost to the Orlando Magic, expectedly, on Tuesday night, and hosts the Raptors at home on Wednesday night. This is probably the most stay-near-home schedule any team has in the league for the Christmas holiday! Not sure why the league decided to reward the Wizards this way, probably a fluke.

Game Info

Injury Report

Pregame notes

A game various scouts will watch — The Wizards are clearly tanking. The Raptors are going nowhere. This means that at any given moment there will be 10 trade targets on the floor. The most interesting ones being Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby, Jakob Poeltl, Kyle Kuzma, Deni Avdija, and Corey Kispert (probably in that order). Perhaps Gafford could help a team too.

How long will coach Unseld, Jr remain on the team? — Most teams with a record of 5-24 would have replaced their coach, especially one that was not hired by the current front office. Given how owner Ted likes to save on every dime, don’t count on it anytime soon would be my guess.
