The Washington Wizards dropped their seventh straight game, losing to the Charlotte Hornets, 117-114 on Wednesday night.
The Wizards went back and forth with the Hornets in the first half with neither team really establishing momentum, but the 2nd half was a different story. The Wizards came out of half time on fire, building a 19-point lead and looking as though they were on their way to an easy victory, but then things changed.
Throughout parts of the game, the Wizards struggled stopping the Hornets from shooting 3s. Within the first 6 minutes of the Hornets knocked down 5 3 pointers to close the gap and get back into the game. The Hornets came into tonight’s game as the 2nd worst 3-point shooting team in the league, but shot 16-37 from behind the arc.
The Wizards squandered the lead by giving up 39 4th quarter points. The game ended up being decided thanks to a huge 3 pointer from Miles Bridges, which gave the Hornets a 3 point lead with 47 seconds left.
Wizards lose another game after having a big lead and now fall to 2-12 on the season, with a 7-game losing streak. Next up, will be another In-Season Tournament Matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks, in the Wizards final group play game of the tournament.
