The Washington Wizards have entered the second half of the 2021-22 NBA season. They have stayed at or above .500 for nearly the entire season, and remain a bit better than preseason projections. With the team in the middle of an eight-game homestand, it’s an opportunity for them to catch up in the standings, especially now that their coronavirus outbreak appears to be subsiding.
For the Washington Mystics, free agency has officially begun. Teams are allowed to negotiate with free agents, but generally speaking, most contracts aren’t announced until February. That’s also going to be around the time when the World Cup qualifiers happen, right here in the DMV.
