We are now in the fifth day of the NBA Free Agency period. The Washington Wizards haven’t made any other big trades since yesterday, but it looks like Garrison Mathews will be on his way out since the team renounced his qualifying offer, according to Fred Katz of The Athletic. As a sharpshooter, that may not hurt his chances of getting a higher paying contract, though.
Sources: The Wizards are rescinding Garrison Mathews’ qualifying offer, which will make Mathews an unrestricted free agent. The 24-year-old Mathews shot 38 percent from 3-point range last year and started 24 games as a two-way player.
