The NBA is in the dog days of summer where there quite honestly isn’t much news worthy going on. That gives writers plenty of opportunity to write about other things in life that they just didn’t get to during the season. Among those topics? Trade ideas.
It is no secret that the Washington Wizards have been the subject of many trade ideas the past few seasons, mainly because they haven’t been an Eastern Conference contender. Their franchise player, Bradley Beal, was the subject of numerous trade rumors where pretty much every team was linked to him at some point.
Just in the past couple weeks alone, two more pieces have been released, musing about how Beal could be a fit on the Denver Nuggets or Atlanta Hawks on one network of sites. And Bleacher Report had another post on Beal trade ideas here. Yeah, it can be frustrating to see this especially when the man himself has reiterated that he wants to stay in Washington until otherwise. Why is this always happening?
In short, this is because the Wizards have generally been a mediocre-at-best team. They also have a new head coach in Wes Unseld, Jr. so it’s unclear how the team will execute their offensive and defensive strategies on the court. But like nearly everything else in the NBA at this time of year, it’s just a slow time on the calendar. We’ll be back to seeing the Wizards on the court before you know it.
