On Monday, the Washington Wizards announced that they have invited six players to pre-draft workouts tomorrow. The players are:

  • Charles Bassey, Western Kentucky
  • Greg Brown III, Texas
  • Blake Francis, Richmond
  • Jay Huff, Virginia
  • Colbey Ross, Pepperdine
  • Isaiah Todd, G League Ignite

Two of the players, Francis and Huff both attend college relatively close to Washington, including Huff, a forward who was part of the Cavaliers’ 2019 NCAA men’s basketball national championship team as a reserve, but he was a starter this past season.

That said, the highest profile candidates here are Bassey, who is rated as the 25th best prospect according to NBADraft.Net and Todd, who is the 43rd. Bassey, a 6’11 center, has the most distinguished resume, where he was the C-USA Player and Defensive Player of the Year in 2018-19 and 2020-21. He averaged 17.6 points and 11.6 rebounds per game in 28 appearances last season. As

Todd, a 6’10 forward, was the No. 13 rated high school prospect in 2020 according to ESPN before deciding to go pro immediately by playing in the G-League instead of going to college. The G-League offers some players who go pro from high school a salary up to $500,000 including incentives.
