I was not thrilled with drafting Isaiah Todd.
But I did a more deep dive into his stats and highlight videos.
Todd is actually very similar to former player Channing Frye. Channing was basically a slow footed 7-footer who could shoot. Frye had a pretty solid 14-year career from 2005-19 and also won a title in 2016.
Todd is a little shorter than Frye. But they both are kind of slow-footed with pretty good jumpers. He also is a little like a less athletic Kyle Kuzma. They are both 6-10 and can shoot.
His G-League stats were kind of underwhelming. But what stood out was his 82 percent free throw shooting and 36 percent 3-point shooting. This shows he is already a good shooter.
Todd does not look like much help on the boards (averaged 5 RPG in the G-League) or a great lateral defender. But he could be a good role player like Frye or maybe Mike Scott.
