Mystics at Sky final score: Washington holds on to win in overtime, 89-85

Tina Charles scored 34 points to lead the Mystics in their last game before the Olympic break.

The game was closer than fans wanted to be. But the Washington Mystics won in overtime, 89-85 against the Chicago Sky on Saturday night in overtime.

Washington kept the heat on Chicago in the first half with Tina Charles scoring 16 of her 34 points. Candace Parker was also just as strong, scoring 13 of her 17 points to keep things close, 46-44, with the Mystics maintaining a close lead.

While Washington led 70-62 to enter the fourth, the game ended up in a 82-all tie as Stefanie Dolson scored 8 points on 4-of-5 shooting while Washington was held to just 21 percent shooting. In overtime, while neither team shot well, but Charles did lead all scorers with 4 points in the period.

The Mystics are now out for the Olympic break and we will have regular content on the games as they happen. They are now 8-10 for the season.Washington won’t be back until Aug. 15 when they head on the road to play the Las Vegas Aces. Tip off is at 6 p.m. ET.
