Pregame notes

While majority of the league has played around nine to 10 games already, the Washington Mystics have only played seven games and this game on Tuesday will only be their second game this month. This will be their first game against the Minnesota Lynx since the preseason.

Although she’s out for most of the season, a familiar face is on the Lynx team and that’s Aerial Powers. Powers was part of the championship Mystics team and played a few games in the bubble as well. Powers is currently battling a hamstring injury.

Washington has struggled this season with only two wins. That could be attributed to shooting slumps and chemistry within the team. And it also could be because Washington isn’t as threatening without Elena Delle Donne in the lineup. Tina Charles has been playing her game per usual, but the consistency overall of the team has been suspect.

Minnesota started the season on a four-game losing streak and now has won three games straight since then. Hopefully the Mystics can put a stop to that but not if they’re not on the same page.
