Wizards vs. Pacers GameThread

The Washington Wizards play the Indiana Pacers at 8 p.m. ET. You can watch the game on TNT. As I said in the preview last night, it’s very simple.

Win and the Wizards are in the first round of the playoffs. Washington’s late season run to make it this far will be worth it. Perhaps Russell Westbrook can make things interesting in a best-of-seven series against the Philadelphia 76ers, even though they are likely not making it past that round.

But lose this game and things will not be so great. Washington had a very good chance of getting a Top-5 overall pick in this year’s draft after a poor start to the season (and exacerbated by an 0-4 run due to a coronavirus outbreak). Now, it’s more likely that the Wizards will pick 14th where we can safely assume that that pick won’t be as much of an impact as ... Cade Cunningham ... or Jalen Suggs would.

That said, perhaps we’ll have some more news if the Wizards lose — we’ll let you know if that happens....
