On Monday morning, the Washington Wizards announced that Bradley Beal will sit out their next two games, both against the Atlanta Hawks. Beal suffered a left hamstring in Washington’s game against the Indians Pacers last Saturday.
Injury update: Bradley Beal has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain following MRI testing conducted yesterday. He will miss the team’s next two games before being re-evaluated on Friday.

Beal will be re-evaluated Friday.
Losing Beal will be hard for the Wizards in the short term. They are playing the Hawks, who are looking to win the Southeast Division and improve their position. The Wizards are currently ninth in the East and have a small but realistic chance of getting the eighth seed. If the Wizards are at least eighth, they will only have to win one game to make the first round of the playoffs instead of two like they do currently.
Despite Beal’s absence for the next couple games, Russell Westbrook has been on a tear. He is averaging 26.2 points, 16.4 assists and 15.8 rebounds per game in May! We will see if he can be the NBA’s career leader in triple-doubles tonight!
