The Washington Wizards were not scheduled to have any nationally televised games on ESPN or TNT this season. But in the last month, they were able to get an April 28 game against the Los Angeles Lakers flexed into ESPN in large part because of their rapid rise in the standings.
And now, a second game will be flexed into ESPN! The Wizards’ game on Wednesday, May 12 against the Atlanta Hawks is now on the four-letter network! The tip-off will be pushed up from 7:30 p.m. ET to 7 p.m. ET.
The Wizards are currently 32-36, ninth in the Eastern Conference while the Hawks are 37-31, tied for fifth in the East with the Miami Heat. This will be a critical game for both teams since the Hawks do not want to fall into the play-in seeds, while the Wizards are also trying to move up to ... the eighth seed! They’re just one game (but effectively two due to tiebreakers) behind the Charlotte Hornets.
