Wizards vs. Cavaliers preview: Washington goes for the 8th straight win

Let’s see if the Wizards can keep the win streak going.

NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers at Washington Wizards Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Wizards are on the longest current winning streak in the league! Actually, scratch that! At the time of writing the Knicks have already eight straight wins (I can’t believe I am writing this, but we’ve seen stranger things happen this season). The never-tanking Wizards face the tanking Cavaliers and are likely to add another W in a game that will likely interest few fans.

Pre-game notes

The Wizards cruise during an easy stretch of the schedule - The Wizards have won seven straight. The last six wins, however, were against relatively weak teams. This game is no different. Probably another easy W as the Wizards make their fiery push for the ... playins while the most of the rest of league is concentrating on either improving their lottery odds or load managing their key guys ahead of the postseason. #SoWizards

I’m worried about the minutes Brad and Russ are logging - a hot topic around the league has been how bad this season has been for player injuries. The injuries have been piling up due to a tight schedule and conditioning issues in this strange season. If coach Brooks has Westbrook and Beal each log around 37 minutes in order to blow-out the OKC Thunder just this week, I am a little concerned for the health of these guys.

Flashback: LeBron James calls OT

Back during the fun season of 2016-17, LeBron hit this epic OT forcing shot from an equally epic Kevin Love football pass. Always fun to relive that moment!
