Today is the NBA Trade Deadline. The Washington Wizards haven’t been in the news for the most part, largely because they are unwilling to part ways with guard Bradley Beal. Beal is also just as unwilling to leave Washington. For now.
Who are the Wizards players most likely to leave?
Based on trade rumors over the last couple week, two players may be traded.
- Troy Brown has been linked to being on the block this month. He has played a bit more in some recent games, likely as a way to showcase his talents to other teams.
- Davis Bertans is also available to some teams, according to Quinton Mayo in a report last week. To a lesser extent, Moritz Wagner is available as well.
Will the Wizards actually trade anyone?
I don’t anticipate any changes on Washington’s end. They are negotiating from a position of weakness, considering that they aren’t willing to part with Beal and few teams are willing to get Russell Westbrook’s contract at this time. And even though Bertans was a hot free agent target last fall, few teams will want to bring him on when he’s been out of shape and not playing very well this season.
That said, you never know what happens in the hours ahead.
Here’s your place to chat about the last hours of the NBA Trade Deadline. We’ll add stories if anything changes. But until 3 p.m. ET, we will be in suspense!
