The Washington Wizards play the Brooklyn Nets at 7 p.m. ET tonight. You can watch the game on NBC Sports Washington. It’s also on NBA TV if you aren’t here or in the New York City area (YES airs Nets games locally).
Washington is coming off a win against the Utah Jazz last Thursday. But the reality is that they lost five straight coming off the All-Star Break and are in a stretch of games that will likely determine whether they can make the postseason, meaning at least a play-in game.
At this point, I just don’t see a play-in game appearance happening. And I don’t see a trade happening either by this Thursday, Mar. 25.
Washington has beaten the Nets twice this season, and perhaps they’ll do it again tonight. However, they’ll also have a hungry Blake Griffin debuting for Brooklyn as well. Even though Kevin Durant is out, just seeing a motivated Griffin could be enough to rally the Nets to a blowout win.
That said, the Wizards have beaten a number of playoff-caliber or championship-contending teams this season besides Brooklyn, and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Washington win again tonight. Go Wizards.
