The Washington Wizards will face the Milwaukee Bucks tonight at 7 p.m. ET. You can watch the game on NBC Sports Washington.
Washington has lost two in a row since the end of the All-Star Break and the Wizards will face two-time reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo in each of their next two contests. It’s going to be hard for them to win tonight no matter what way we try to slice it. I’ll share our latest NBA Reacts survey information tomorrow which shows that fan confidence has peaked for more on that.
I also wanted to speak briefly on some of the Twitter criticism of Marcus Atkinson’s piece last Wednesday. Among other things, the critics of his piece don’t think the Wizards are going to be any better with Beal gone. But that doesn’t mean that Marcus or any of the other writers or I are any less of a fan than those who want Brad to stay at all costs. Personally, I admire Beal’s desire to stay in Washington, but it’s also difficult to see them improve as long as Scott Brooks is coaching the team and misutilizing young talent like Troy Brown and Deni Avdija this year.
And they aren’t bringing in any veteran All-Star players until at least 2023 when Russell Westbrook’s contract is off the books.
Anyway, that’s my take on the criticism from some of the comments on his piece that week on social media. Let’s hope the Wizards can keep this game competitive. They did so against the Lakers and Clippers pretty recently, so why not?
