Pregame notes
An early game for the Washington Wizards (5-14) who go down to Charlotte to face the Hornets (10-13). This will be their first meeting of the season. Currently the Wizards are 1-5 in their division, that only win coming against the Miami Heat.
It'll be interesting to see how the Wizards plan to stop rookie LaMelo Ball who has been on a hot streak lately along with veteran Gordon Hayward. Ball is averaging 15.9 points over the last 10 games, while Hayward is averaging 23 points per game. Washington hasn’t exactly been a mediocre defensive team as teams are able to score 100+ points on them.
The Wizards still remain one of the worst teams in the league. Only team worst than them are the Detroit Pistons. Nevertheless, Washington hasn’t been a team to keep their eye especially if you can limit the productivity of Bradley Beal. Beal leads the league in scoring averaging 33 points per game. In his last game he was held to only seven points shockingly.
It’s up to the Wizards to come in this game with aggression and make sure the ““video-game playing” according to Head Coach Scott Brooks is at a minimum.
