Good news for the Washington Mystics as center LaToya Sanders will be returning for the 2021 WNBA season. Sanders opted out of the 2020 season citing her health and family was the reason for her decision.

Sanders was of course part of the 2019 championship team where she averaged 6.1 points per game and 5.5 rebounds. She played a pivotal role in the success of team with her defense and offensive abilities. General Manager and Head Coach Mike Thibault mentioned how happy he that she’s returning.
“We are so glad to have LaToya back with us this season. She was a huge contributor to our Championship season and we definitely missed her last summer,” he said. “LaToya’s defensive presence and offensive efficiency has been so valuable to our success, and her leadership is greatly respected by her teammates.”
Sanders expressed that she’s happy to be back with Washington and to be able to play and work for another championship.
